I was working at my job at a camera store; I had just pulled in around when it started happening I guess. I remember parts of the day vividly...I even remember what I was listening to on the stereo on the way in. We didn't know what was going on until a coworker that was off that day called (I took the phone call) and told us. We pretty much watched the TV all day after that.

I mean the reason we buy this huge monitors is to shrink the UI and maximize free space right???
I'm going to be overly picky on this one and it may have already been said but...
-You buy a larger monitor so that things shrink LESS at higher resolutions.
-You buy a monitor with a higher resolution so that you can fit more UI in there regardless of the size of the monitor.
If I remember from some knews a while back, isn't there some kind of slider to decide the scaling?

What gets me the most bang for my buck - upgrading to a SSD or upgrading RAM?
Slowness I'm seeing is with iPhoto - I'm thinking the bottleneck is the iPhoto library HD (800 GB of pix).

Yeah, and I bet that very few (if any at all) have even reached 1GB. You seriously need to attempt to fill up that thing to realize just how big 1GB of mail is. Even if you get emails with video clips attached, you need a lot of big media clips (or a few .dv files) to put in there to fill that space.

Please I beg you to stop with these September iPhone rumors. These are the most ridiculous "rumors" I ever heard, and they all belong on page 2. The only reason I tolerate them is because it helps Apple sell more iPhones, by making people think iPhone 5 isn't coming for a while, though it is just around the corner.

Hello, I have been trying to import songs from my iTunes library to my Garageband to edit them and take sections out as loops.
However, when I import the song (either by dragging or using the media import), Garageband automatically converts the song and removes all the bass. Is there a way for Garageband to not convert my music?
Thank you so much.

I think most people wanting to game should go for a console instead.. But then again you can download emulators & games and run it on your iphone or ipad, but obviously not legal as far as I know.. But It can be done..
I think Nintendo better watch out :P. Still I think the fact that the new Nintendo DS has 3D support means it's probably going to be a better gaming experience then a iPhone or iPod Touch..
The games that are available on iOS devices are not of the highest quality, infact most of the games are crap, IMO.. I've tried FPS shooters, the experience just isn't the same, some games are awesome for iOS particularly racing games & games that take advantage of the gyro..
But in all honesty I haven't seen a game yet on iOS that really blew me away, so as far as gaming goes I think getting a console is the better choice..

That is pretty cool looking. It reminds me of Base Star on Battlestar Galactica.

Android = best software
Apple = best hardware
Wish one or the other would resolve their issues, hehe.
Android is great for some people, IOS is great for others. I was a die hard w7 guy, always upgrading, cooking own roms, till I used the iPhone 2G.
User experience is unmatched on IOS, and all my android friends agree. They just like open-ness and 'you shouldnt have to jailbreak'.
You cant keeep throwing more and more processing power at something that doesnt work properly in the 1st place, hence why I'm with Apple stilll.
So I would disagree with your comment. I think Android have the best hardware and Apple by far the best software.

Nice review.
I am only worried about the bulkiness and thickness. Does this case make the ipad 2 a lot thicker and heavier? Is it heavy at all?

Just out of curiosity has anyone ever sat down with a meter and figured out what folding costs you in electricty. I shut down a server I ran 24/7 for years (and replaced it with a HP WHS) and realized a $20/month decrease in my electric bill. That server wasn't really doing all that much. It hosted some web sites that no one visted and ran an email server that serviced one user. I imagine had that thing been folding with all its unused cycles (which were many) it would have been much more than $20.

I notice that the fingers in the diagram look small. A little research shows the average male index finger dip joint (last joint at the finger) is about 1cm long. Doing some quick calculations, assuming ANYTHING in the diagram is to scale, the device seems to be about 7" tall. The current Ipod is 4.1" tall. Also, the diagram shows the ability to add to playlist, which leads me to believe it is more than an ipod... perhaps I am completely wrong, of course
that reminds me.... does anyone remember when Jobs was previewing GarageBand PodCast maker? His Super Secret Apple Rumors?
Hi, Im Steve and welcome to my weekly podcast, Super-secret Apple Rumors. I have some pretty good sources inside Apple, and the next iPod is going to be HUGE, like 8 pounds See you next week.
Well... He's probably talking about something else.
Instead of 10,000 songs in your pocket it'll be 8 lbs in your pocket. Not too fun.

The AIRs are possibly the most improved machine Apple has e we come out with. Apple went from selling junk to selling a benchmark ultra portable machine.
Sadly I'm not in the market, mostly because I need far more secondary storage. That is certain to be addressed as flash shrinks. However I was actually disappointed that the recent MBP updates didn't take advantage of some of the ideas expressed in the AIR. It looks like Apples Mac Book Pro design team is a little stale.
