I rarely have anything good to say about AT&T, but this app sounds like a potentially good use of crowdsourcing. The question, of course, is: will this incoming feedback actually be reviewed and acted upon by AT&T, or is this effort primarily to create the "illusion of responsiveness" and make us all just feel better.

AFAIK, AT&T is the only carrier to have a simple method like this to report trouble spots. What, do you think Verizon actually has a guy walking around the country with a phone attached to his ear asking "Can you hear me now?"

I don't think they should add cut and paste because it's metaphorically confusing (and they never will add it for this reason), but a Path Finder-like drop stack (which is essentially the same thing, but with visual cues) would be very nice.
A Path Finder-like split view is would also be very handy for moving files.
The OS doesn't need built-in social media integration. There are plenty of twitter clients, and the official Facebook Notifications menu bar item is fine.

You're going to want to install Flip 4 Mac or whatever it's called. Plays windows media within QT shell.

I hadn't installed Flip4Mac yet.
Thanks :)

If Leopard is released before Vist I won;\'t go near it with a 20 meter cattle prod and even if they gave it away for free. Leopard released that soon would scream revenge of the Tiger launch. Honestly a january lauch of eather Vista or Leopard doesn't serve anyone. For windows they missed the lucrative holiday sales rush and only the after x-mas bargan shoppers are looking to buy in ist quarter. For Apple school sales won't begin for months.
All that a January Leopard launch would prove would be the immaturity of the people running Apple. e.g. Its better to ship an OS that probably has a ton of bugs in it to be able to thumb our collective noses at MS then ship a solid product. IMHO I'm REALLY hoping for a WWDC launch of Leopard.
If Apple releases Leopard before March, it will likely be a mistake. How about version 10.5.-3?

Maybe word will stop crashing on documents with to many tables, and PowerPoint will stop crashing on large presentations editing animations.
Maybe.
... and crashing when refreshing or editing a graph in Excel when a cell in the PivotTable from which graph was drawn is selected. I am working with a 114 MB Excel document and I am not amused when this happens....
Still, Office is great. I just wish they'd spend more time getting rid of obvious bugs in the Mac version.

Looks real nice, but it's too bad they couldn't keep the standard USB connector built-in. Also, on Apple's site it appears that one of the buttons on the top edge is labeled "Off". Is this really an off button (as the label would suggest) or is it the more common "hold" / lock button? If it's a true off button, it would be a first for any iPod (as far as I can recall).

Everyone I know either has an iPhone or wants an iPhone. I even know a slew of Apple-loathing PC fanboys who have iPhones and HATE that they have iPhones, but love the iPhones so much.
Most people wanting an iPhone, that I know, don't have a problem with the $199 price tag, but with the 2-year plan and cost per month. They are generally cell phone non-dependants who have use-as-you-go plans due to lack of consuming need. $120/mo. for everything unlimited is ridiculous. If it was $40/mo. for everything unlimited, I believe cell providers would see a surge in sales. Then again, would that cheap a price provide them profit?
The cost of ownership with an iPhone is what drove me away. Paying 100+ a month for my phone (I got for free when I worked at Apple so I wouldn't have paid that much anyways for it) is crazy to me. I pay 70 a month with Sprint and get unlimited everything including 4G and my EVO was like 200 bucks after rebates. If the iPhone came to Sprint... maybe I'd switch back... maybe I wouldn't.

With such a great delay the XServes are coming at the same time Intel will release the first Quad-Core Clovertown CPUs.
Is Apple delaying so much in order to ship the XServe with Clovertown instead of Woodcrest?
I doubt that is the case since they announced the delay and then started taking preorders. I guess it's possible but why bother taking preorders. If they were waiting they would probably say something to get more orders.

Interesting app. Unfortunately the place where my phone drops the most also has a funky gps issue. My iPhone usually says I'm located anywhere from 10 to 20 miles away (and yes, it has the pin point orb thing and not the you're in this general area circle). So I can report the problem but AT&T will get some random spot in the city and not the actual position.

Am I the only one that wants iWork 07'? My trial ran out on 06 and I need it for school, but don't want to get 06 and have 07 come out a few days later.
You could try Openoffice.org for Mac. It's basically very like Microsoft Office only Openoffice.org is free.

While a neat technology, it's a bit of a stretch to really call this "glasses-free 3D". Unlike the 3DS, where actual illustion of depth is present, this is just changing the perspective on a rendered 3D object on the screen based on head position. The image that the left and right eye sees are the same, thus no actual "3D" effect.
I find it a bit of a stretch to say one kind of optical illusion is "real 3D" while another optical illusion is "not really 3D."
I get that they're different and I understand their strengths and weaknesses (really I do) but let's not forget that they're ALL just illusions of 3D space stuck to a 2D plane.
You don't have depth perception?
I dunno what his deal is, but my mother-in-law only has one working eye. These things are neat for her because she can see them whereas she can't experience the traditional glasses-based kind at all.

iPad 3= iPad 2 without lightleak
iPad 3 is going to have a redesign for sure. Expect more.
Retina Display, no home button, thinner, increase battery life of up to 12hrs.
These are my guesses.

Someone always posts something like this when related to the OS. I don't get it.
Maybe you should leave, because I'm pretty sure almost all (substantial) rumours violate some sort of agreement with Apple. Or how did you think we get screenshots of the OS before it's available, descriptions of products before they're available, etc?
I know it happens and there's nothing I can do. But if at some point something critical gets released that really pisses Apple off then we as developers may lose access to this information. Or be forced to pay a much higher price for early access.
Leaking this info doesn't benefit anyone but losing access to the pre-release versions could seriously effect the smaller developers. I just find it pathetic that some people just have no respect for others.
