OOoooowwwww...... (well, it looks like it hurts!)
but I have no idea of what those numbers mean...

also , I don't think I have the look to get away with stretching my lobes. :p

nope, plain vanilla 2nd set of holes. For studs. Because wearing 2 sets of hoops at once looks a little .... not my cup of tea, I can't get away with it, either. :p

got pics of your ear? :)

8 gauge is just a bit bigger than pencil size this is the best pic i have so far:
but you can see my eyebrow and labret too!

I like Justin, im glad to to know he's still doing the ads. Replacing Long or Hodgeman would be weird though, i guess they'll milk this as long as they can and then start a new campaign :p

Did you have any problems with the time not being visible or any other "side effects". I remember downloading and trying this with Nocturne but it wasn't as easy or effective as I had hoped. Was it easy? Anyone else have experience with Nocturne?

Idk about him, but I use nocturne and have had not one issue with it thus far. Ive been using it for about 6 months now too.

as long as it still works and doesnt slow the system to much, it can look 10.1 for all i care :p

As a developer, I don’t care if it has a cellular radio or not... so iPad and iPod need to be counted too, unless you’re studying carriers alone.

I'm sorry, but I don't see what's wrong with a survey of mobile phone sales only including mobile phones.

You should be looking at other analysis for the information you want.

My iPhone 4 rocks. I feel the need to share my joy since 80% are complaining. Yes I am a fanboy but my iPhone 4 works flawlessly. I can hold it in my left hand, right hand, foot and it still works. I thought maybe it was just my city but I am out and about this week traveling and it works like a charm. Someone needs to tell Steve that I must have his unit.

Where has all the logic gone? It sure isn't here.

If a company A is sued by more companies than company B, does it make comppany B right or better? No, it does not.

If a company C is more eager to sue other companies than company D, does it make company D better or does it indicate company D to be more right? No, it does not.

Anyway, even thought it would be great, I don't really expect to see any logic in any discussion where there is a difference of an opinion between actions or products by Apple against ANY other company.

All this at a time when ISP's are moving to metered broadband in the US. I have yet another excuse to move to a "business class" service, until those get capped.

Just curious on what everyones process at BB was. I walked in and signed a sheet of paper with barcodes and a picture of the iPhone 4. I paid 50 for a GC and they put my name down on a list for a 9am appointment on launch day. I just want to see if BB has the same procedures everywhere else.

Yes, that is the same procedure at our BB, except they said they would call the day before to set up appointments. I was about 12-13th in line, so I hope I get one. Not sure how many they will get in on the 24th.

Personally I'm excited for it! My wife has a white conversion kit on hers and it looks sweet

As for those saying it's just a different color, what's the big deal. It's the same to some when you drool over new MacBooks that look the same but updated internals.

I happen to have the displeasure of knowing a good many more than I'd like to, and I'm telling you there's no way that a full 45% of that student body are blue-blooded Mac users. Princetonians are a people lacking utterly in subtlety and charm, and even poorer in aesthetic intuition. They're the people who pose with upturned collars! I can't stress strongly enough: These people aren't Mac users. They're switcheurs.

And...how old are you? You are making gross generalizations about an entire student body -- one that is completely recycled in four years. Your comments could apply to most Research I universities, I'm not sure why you're so uptight about what many of us might call "progress".

Australia has cheap good food too. How much is a kilo of fresh tomatoes in Norway? It's approx $3-5 here. Which is approx 16-28 Norwegian Kroner, or 2-3.5 .
It costs about the same in Norway as in Australia, but the wage level is higher in Norway than in most other countries.

    We don't need more "options."

    That would be dumbing down.

The smart thing to do is weigh your options. We weigh our options with everything in life. Life the toilet seat or leave it down, what to eat for dinner, what to post on MR, why not have an option as to which $500 dollar phone + $100+ dollar a month plan I want, and the option to use it as I please?

I have a feeling that the bottom line with this stuff is, a "big player" (or two or three) will have to simply start allowing people to place and stream their music content on the servers and duke it out in court with any of the record labels who protest, after the fact. The record labels are as greedy as ever, and surely WANT to try to retain as much control over usage of the music as possible.

If you can imagine a new way to deliver or re-use the content, they want to find some way to get paid for it.

I don't think they'd win in a court of law, personally -- and maybe Amazon simply doesn't think so either? But until a ruling is made, it's probably still one of those "unknowns" where depending on which side you're on, you claim permission is or isn't needed to do it.

To be fair, there are probably some complications here too, because like it or not, it's a symbiotic relationship between the record labels and the digital music sellers out there. (EG. If someone like Apple says, "Screw you! Nothing in our legal agreement for selling your digital music says we can't let paying customers stream it!" -- then the labels can say, "Ok, fine... We'll make sure that's changed when your contract is up for renewal, and since you're making money off doing it without our permission NOW? We'll either pull your rights to sell the content when the current deal expires, or we'll charge so much for the privilege to stream, you're compensating us for all the unpaid streaming your users did before we made the change!")

But doesn't Amazon do this already - without the music labels permission?

I took this to mean traffic as in network traffic. iOS devices, and all new smartphones, utilize a lot of network traffic. It wouldn't surprise me if they were looking at more robust ways of utilizing traffic, compression, etc. I'm not sure how they would collect traffic data. I suppose if they see a cell signal sitting in the same place for 20 minutes, it would reflect a traffic jam. But then again, they could have parallel parked and went to go grab a Starbucks.

Yeah I'm with you (and the other's who've said similar) on this.
This has been misinterpreted. I'm sure they'll just mean network/data traffic. Things like response times, dropouts, average data transfers, etc, so maybe they'll build in some sort of compression for apps that are data intensive.

There's no way to distinguish between whether the user is a pedestrian or in a vehicle.
Could be a cyclist flying along roads, or a person jogging, at the same pace as a car stuck in traffic. Has the car stopped because of heavy traffic, or because they can't hold it in any longer!!

There's way to many variables to consider for this to be about them collecting road traffic information.

Well, lets see, it took Microsoft 5+ years to craft a new Microsoft Office. ;)

    Microsoft Office 2003 -> Microsoft Office 2007.

So no, Apple doesn't NEED to have a iWork '07, you'd just prefer that they do.

First things first: I think you'll find that if you subtract 2003 from 2007 you'll end up with the number 4. In this case four years.

Next: If Apple names it's next version of iLife, iLife '08, it would brake the routine, but you see Microsoft is not bothered about that so who cares?

Every time I hear a rumor or some news about the white iPhone (and oh my, there have been plenty - "It's coming, it's coming") I always think about when I was like 9 years old and my uncle, to get me out of his hair, used tell me to stay guard at the edge of the camp site and keep a look out for "snipe." Man how I waited and waited . . .

I'm getting the feeling that the white iPhone is our version of the ever elusive "snipe." We'll laugh about it, talk about it, but never really ever get a chance to actually see one. Oh well.

That is how you see it ... "bend to your whims?"

I however disagree with your opinion of the USA

Disagree all you want. Its a well known fact that the USA has been intervening all over the world and setting up friendly governments (to USA interests) for over five decades now.

    Interesting story.

I can't believe that a group spent that much time investigating nike+ kits, after they realized the range is only 60 feet Maximum!

Why not target GPS enabled phones with a much farther range ? Much more worth the time, especially considering the amount of people that have such phones, over iPod kits!

Whoa. That's around 8 minutes of commentary about the issue. It's plain to see that Jon is secretly in love with Apple.

If that analogy holds true, then he is basically Rupert Murdoch's golf buddy? And his most favorite dinner guest is Sarah Palin?
